Happy #2!

Sweet N turned 2! We went to the Oklahoma Aquarium to see all the "fishies" (as he calls them) on his actual birthday.  He loved it! We got to watch some divers working in the coral reef tank, and that provided lots of entertainment for us all!  Then, over the weekend, we had a small party for him.  His favorite part was blowing out the candles I think! We had to do that a few times!

If I live in a house of spotless beauty with everything in it's place,

but have not love-I am a housekeeper, not a homemaker.

If I have time for waxing, polishing and decorative achievements,

but have not love-my children learn of cleanliness, not godliness.

Love leaves the dust in search of a child's laugh.

Love smiles at the tiny fingerprints on a newly cleaned window.

Love wipes away the tears before it wipes up the spilled milk. 

Love picks up the child before it picks up the toys.

Love is present through trials.

Love reprimands, reproves and is responsive.

As a mother there is much I must teach my child,

but the greatest of all is...love.

I love this! I am unsure of the author...I read it in the Duggar's newest book and thought that it was such a great reminder of what my priorities should be.  I like having an ultra clean, super organized home, so it is a challenge at times for me to lay aside my work and play with my kids.  My goal is to be very intentional with my time, and to spend it wisely...I'm working on it!

Snowy Days

This winter we had a couple of good snowy days. As soon as B sees the flakes falling he starts begging to get outside and play it! I love watching them love it, but I don't exactly enjoy the half hour it takes to get everyone dressed to be out in the cold, wet snow! They really like it when daddy goes out to play too, as he is a master snowman builder! :-)
